Greetings from The University of Santo Tomas High School Batch 88!

On 21 March 2010, The UST HS Batch 88 Alumni Association Inc., which is an affiliate of the UST Alumni Association, Inc., in cooperation with HEBREO 12:1 Foundation Inc., will hold its very first benefit run, “The Green Miles” (Run for an Eco-Smart Lifestyle), a 3k/5k/10k/15k foot race to be held at the SM Mall of Asia Grounds.

We have a strong 1,000 active members with a monthly forum done every first week of the month and a countless exchange of correspondences from the whole alumni, here and abroad. We have conducted in the past various civic activities like an Outreach Program providing free legal, medical and dental consultation and examination and other allied services including a feeding program. We have even conducted volunteer relief operations for the victims of typhoon “Ondoy.”

On the other hand, HEBREO 12:1 Foundation Inc., is a legitimate foundation founded by a promising young versatile actor, singer and who became one of today’s ultimate heartthrobs … very popularly known to all as PIOLO PASCUAL. The foundation was made to exist to cater the needs of the unfortunate young children who due to the hard times of life have been deprived of proper education and good health. It is for such cause, the HEBREO 12:1 has successfully conducted in the past, series of Medical and Dental Missions; Feeding Programs for the Street Children and Scholarship Programs for Qualified Youths.

The benefit run is a wellness program expected to be participated in by no less than 3,000 runners both from the alumni and the public, in line with the batch’s advocacy on the issue of climate change and how to protect the environment. The ultimate green solution is lifestyle change. Managing our lifestyle in the usage of earth’s resources will ease down the pressure on our planet, and the power to do this is in our hands. Live the lifestyle, Be Eco-Smart.

This event is a joint project of UST HS Batch 88 Alumni Association Inc., and HEBREO 12:1 Foundation Inc., as we focus our advocacies towards the protection of the environment as a heritage and for the continued enjoyment of our youth. The portion of the proceeds thereof will also help us achieve and continue to undertake our community projects.
